What’s in the ‘Garrison Tote’ Bag?

We’ve been wanting to start a new series called “What’s in the Bag” on our blog for quite some time now. Beyond our amazing collection of footwear, we carry a nicely curated selection of accessories, which we continue to expand upon over the years. We’d like to showcase not only a great bag, whether small or big, but also its capacity for containing your everyday essentials.

Today we feature the Garrison Tote from Winter Session. Winter Session is an American manufacturer of thoughtfully made bags. Their story began in 2010 in Chicago, Illinois, but today continues in Denver, Colorado. Their focus is on traditional methods combined with innovative technology, which strike a perfect balance between utilitarian function, durability and aesthetic appeal. And better yet, they source all of their materials here in the US. To top it off, each bag is lovingly put together by hand.

Constructed of natural canvas and vegetable tanned leathers the Garrison Tote has many functions, spanning from work to play. It would be the perfect companion for a picnic in the park, day at the beach, weekend get-away or even for your daily commute. With four outer pockets, two inner pockets and a spacious inside, the tote is a lot like a Mary Poppins bag. It can pretty much fit everything but the kitchen sink. The side compartments are perfect for holding a bottle of wine, umbrella or water bottle. For your work day, in addition to what we have pictured, it could fit a laptop and a lunchbox along with other daily necessities. We hope you’ll love the Garrison as much as we do. Without a doubt it’s a dependable bag for your next adventure.

Holiday Gifts: Stocking Stuffers

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to gift giving I usually do okay with the “big gift” during the holidays. Not so much when it comes to the stockings. I mean how many oranges, apples and nuts can one person get? (Atleast that’s what we used to get in ours when we were kids.)

Lucky for you we have some great ideas for filling your loved one’s stocking with some fun and useful gifts. All these gifts are under $25.00 which will make it easier on your wallet too. Click the orange links below for more information.

Holiday Gifts: Stocking Stuffers

1. Speaking of wallets, Mywalit makes a great ID version that comes in a variety of color combinations. He or she will never have to use that rubber band again. $22

2. For the person who wishes to have their shoes in tip-top shape, we recommend the great smelling all natural products from Otterwax. Their saddle soap and leather salve will make their shoes look like new again. $16 -$17

3. Do you have someone who needs a little motivation? The Daruma Wish Doll is the perfect gift for someone who is trying to attain their goal. Color in one eye to set your goal and Daruma will serve as your helpful reminder as they keep a watchful eye on you. Color in the second eye when you achieve your goal to remind you of how awesome you are. $8

4. Iris Guy Stacking Rings are for the ladies who love to layer their jewelry. These “pea” rings are a delicate oxidized sterling silver. They would look great with other stacking rings in her collection or just on their own. $22 each

5. Who doesn’t love socks? If you plan on giving them they might as well be fun. We love Hansel and Basel socks for their colorful patterns and textures. $12 -$15

6. The perfect fridge magnet! Super strong to hold up a dish towel or a massive 11×8 picture of you. This Areaware  Horsehoe magnet is so cool and it comes in green, yellow and white too. $14 each

7. Who doesn’t love a diamond? Even if it’s just a box, it’s the thought that counts, right? Besides, good things come in small packages. Okay, enough with the cheesy witty remarks, the Areaware Diamond Box would make a cute gift. $15 each

Mondays, Maggie Muses: Bright and Colorful Gifts

Hi, I’m Maggie. My husband (Legh) and I own re-souL.   I like to “muse” about things that inspire me.  Especially on Mondays.

This year I am thinking about modern colorful gifts for friends and family. The holidays are about getting together and celebrating each other. So why not give someone you love something bright and festive?

Like these ornaments from Alessi. Great as a set, but each one stands out on its own too. Don’t you love the donkey?

Fall Color Story: Forest Green

Forest Green

Lately, we’ve been having a fascination with the color green. Not kelly green, not lime green or mint green (okay, we have been having a thing for mint green too).  No, we’re talking about forest green. You know, the kind of green that you can only find, well in a forest.  It’s a beautiful hue that looks sophisticated with black or dark grey. A nice compliment to cream and ivory. Richly regal with browns, especially cognac or chocolate.  It just simply looks fresh to us. What do you think?

Items from re-souL:
> Vialis “5363″ shootie in forest green, $294, made in Spain
> MTNG “Hydra” suede double zip boot, $148, made in Spain. Call for availability.
> Mywalit “492″ flap pouch with key ring, $36, imported.
