Fiorentini + Baker: The Iconic Boot Brand

fiorentini_baker_factory_line

Fiorentini + Baker is a brand that was established in 2001. It’s creator and designer Deborah Baker moved to Bologna, Italy to set up a studio to design a collection of shoes that would be understated and have a low key attitude.

Eighteen years later the F+B brand is still going strong due to their timeless classics and attention to quality. The constructions are hardy and substantial. Tuscan leather uppers and Goodyear welt soles make the styles last and last, season after season, and year after year.  Not being a slave to the current fashion trends, the philosophy is simple – create styles that can be worn everyday, put-away and forgotten about, only to be rediscovered and worn again.

re-souL has been carrying the collection for 15 years, and we personally wear them ourselves. We can attest to the longevity of wear and the comfort that makes these shoes so very special.  To see the current collection, click here for women and here for men.

What to Wear: 3 Spring Trends to Try

Hello! We have been receiving some new Spring shoes and they have us inspired to wear something fresh for the change of season. This weekend is supposed to be nice, so how about giving these trends a try?  ernesto_dolani_perf_oxfords

Pastel colors for Spring continue this season. Ease into milder weather with a pretty pastel plaid top and some breezy wide leg crops. Finish your look with a pair of perforated blush tone oxfords, a great alternative to a sandal.

It seems that there are two strong trends at the moment. Shades of burnt orange, sienna, and rusty brown are dominating the blogs and fashion magazines. The other is the jumpsuit. Wear this casual piece with a color-block slide in the new neutral shades of terra cotta and blush. The perfect sandal for the laid back style of a linen jumpsuit.

Mixing patterns such as stripes and florals are a fun way to add some life to your typically neutral based wardrobe. If you’re going to make a statement, you might as well go all the way! Bright hues like this red sculptural pump are a great way to punch some color onto your ensemble.

So are you inspired too? If you would like to see more new arrivals, come visit us at our re-souL shop, follow us on Instagram or shop with us on-line at resoul.com We wish you a great spring season! Thanks for stopping by!

How to Style our Tilda Clog

We in the Pacific Northwest have always liked our clogs. It is an all-season item that can be worn in so many ways, pants, skirts, dresses, etc. With the forecast calling for warmer days this September, we thought we would show you how to style our re-souL “Tilda” clog this season.

Wide Leg Trousers + re-souL clogs
Wide leg trousers are all the rage this season. We like to wear clogs with these pants because they balance out the look of the flared leg. You can still look professional wearing clogs if you keep your pieces tailored and when the weather becomes a bit cooler, you could add a blazer to to ward off the chill.

Fall 2013 Color Story: Deep Green

green board

As a fashion color, GREEN continues to trend this Fall.  We’ve covered this color in past seasons but this season’s green is a deep dark hue. Green as in the color of the deep sea or dark dense forest. Shades like dark teal, hunter green and dark olive.  We love these greens on their own or worn with black, navy and charcoal grey. Add any of these styles to your fall wardrobe for a little pop of color and your friends will be “green” with envy.
