WTWW: Coclico “Ziggy” Sandal

Each Wednesday we’ll answer the on-going question: “What do I wear with these?”  It’s a question we get quite often here at the shop and we love giving suggestions when helping our customers.

WTWW Coclico Ziggy Sandal
Oh Spring, won’t you please get here soon? That way we can start to wear shoes like this stunning bootie/sandal from Coclico! We think it’s the perfect style to wear with warmer weather pieces such as culottes, midi dresses and jumpsuits. But they would equally look as fab with your slouchy jeans too. Now, if it only would stop raining. Sigh.

What to Wear Wednesday: re-souL Elaine

Each Wednesday we’ll answer the on-going question: “What do I wear with these?”  It’s a question we get quite often here at the shop and we love giving suggestions when helping our customers.

re-souL Elaine tassle moc

We recently introduced our women’s re-souL collection for FW14. We thought it would be fun to show the different ways you can wear our tassle-moc “Elaine”. We featured this loafer in our fall lookbook. A tailored flat that can be worn with almost anything. We like wearing them casually with a pair of rolled up boyfriend jeans or slightly dressy with a pleated midi skirt. Top off this look with a classic trench or an oversized cardigan and you’re all set! Any easy pulled together polished outfit in no time flat!

Proud to Present: Coclico

Coclico "Dore"

“A shoe is a story disguised as an object.” ~ Coclico

We have been selling Coclico at the shop for several seasons now, and to us the collections just seem to be getting better and better, season after season. We thought it would be nice to tell their story and show why “slow fashion” is as important to their esthetic as well as their philosophy for producing beautiful shoes.

Coclico speaks to a personal identity that extends beyond style and luxury to our way of living in the world. Consciously, artfully, elegantly. At Coclico, they believe that luxury isn’t the ability to purchase endlessly, but the privilege of choosing wisely. Their materials are sourced locally in Europe, near their small, family-run factory in Mallorca, Spain.

Coclico "Ivonne"

Coclico founder Sandra Canselier descends from a long line of French shoemakers; her father, grandfather and great-grandfather all made shoes in the province of Pays de la Loire. It is the region’s local wildflower coquelicot that lends its name to the company. Now a firmly entrenched New Yorker, Sandra continues making shoes in the French tradition.

Clean lines and a neutral palette are the cornerstones of each Coclico collection. Subtle beauty in architectural silhouettes are carved from wood, cork and leather. Coclico eschews ornamentation and excess, invoking instead a classic, timeless expression wherein beauty is only enhanced by wear.

Their shoes are produced in a small, historic factory in Mallorca, Spain, where Sandra is on a first-name basis with the craftspeople who make each pair of shoes by hand. Coclico are the only shoes made in this family owned and operated factory. The facility is noted for providing living wages, environmental reliability and setting the bar for best practices. The craftspeople take pride in the production of shoes, and their skill ensures the consistent quality of our brand.

Slow production is not just one of Coclico’s fundamental values, but a guiding principle that affects how they approach their work and lives each and every day. “Slow our consumption, slow our impact on the environment, and invest in the things we wear with thoughtfulness and care. We expect everything we wear to endure, which is why we produce shoes that will look good, season after season.”

Coclico "Iris"

“Beauty evolves from the union of quality and time.” ~ Coclico
We couldn’t agree more.

What to Wear Wednesday: Coclico “Natali” Ankle Boot

Each Wednesday we’ll answer the on-going question: “What do I wear with these?”  It’s a question we get quite often here at the shop and we love giving suggestions when helping our customers.

What to Wear with Coclico Natali
So the kids get to be shiny and new with their back-to-school clothes, so why can’t we? Hence the reason for this what-to-wear Wednesday’s back-to-work post. What a better way to celebrate the kiddos going back to school than with a little fall treat for yourself after the long summer. We love the Natali boot from Coclico. Part ankle boot, part clog, and a whole lot of sass, we would wear this with everything! For those of you in a casual work environment, pair them with your skinny jeans, silk top and long vest for a laid back yet polished look. Need to dress up for work? Wear them with tights and a knit dress or a wool shift. A new tote to go with your fall ensemble would complete the look. Oh, did we mention they are really comfortable?

Featured re-souL items:
