Fiorentini + Baker: The Iconic Boot Brand

fiorentini_baker_factory_line

Fiorentini + Baker is a brand that was established in 2001. It’s creator and designer Deborah Baker moved to Bologna, Italy to set up a studio to design a collection of shoes that would be understated and have a low key attitude.

Eighteen years later the F+B brand is still going strong due to their timeless classics and attention to quality. The constructions are hardy and substantial. Tuscan leather uppers and Goodyear welt soles make the styles last and last, season after season, and year after year.  Not being a slave to the current fashion trends, the philosophy is simple – create styles that can be worn everyday, put-away and forgotten about, only to be rediscovered and worn again.

re-souL has been carrying the collection for 15 years, and we personally wear them ourselves. We can attest to the longevity of wear and the comfort that makes these shoes so very special.  To see the current collection, click here for women and here for men.

WTWW ~ How to Wear Brown

The kids are back in school and the weather is slowly changing. It’s time for another “What to Wear Wednesday”. The color brown is the new neutral of the season. Don’t worry, black is not going anywhere. But, it’s been awhile since we have seen brown on our feet as a fashion color so, we thought we would show you some examples of how we would wear this versatile shade.

Faux fur in every style and color is the coat of the season. We would wear this “teddy bear” coat with these two-tone ankle boots from Ernesto Dolani. They’re borrowed from the boys, yet slightly feminine with its chunky heel.

If you haven’t already noticed. Plaid everything is also the trend when it comes to prints. Besides wearing these oxfords with pants, we would gladly wear them with tights and a dress. Moma’s wingtip design and rich coffee color make them the perfect match for an outfit like this.

We are diggin all the spicy tone colors in ready to wear for this season. We love pumpkin, rust, mustard, ochre and olive greens. Best neutral to go with? Brown of course! We would wear these dark chocolate beauties from Ernesto Dolani with everything!

So the question is, are you ready for Fall? Thanks for stopping by the blog and we hope to see you in the shop! All styles available in-store and on-line. To see more Fall goodness head over to our website ~ resoul.com

Metallic Boot Trend

With the deep rich colors that the Fall Season always brings, and the continuation of the ankle boot trend, we think that metallic boots are a fantastic way to add some oomph to your wardrobe.

Metallic Boot Trend: Kupuri boot

These Kupuri black metallic ankle boots are the perfect alternative to the pump. Plus they’ll keep your feet a lot warmer than an exposed pump or heeled sandal. We would wear these with dresses and wide leg pants. They would look great with or without hosiery.

Metallic Boot Trend: re-souL Iris short boot

Our very own re-souL ankle boot would look amazing with your favorite jeans and a chunky sweater. Because the bronze color is neither warm or cool, you could wear these with the full spectrum of color. Think of it as a neutral. These will look great with monochrome colors, jewel tones or warm rusty browns and mustard yellows.

Short boots or ankle boots as we like to call them, can sometimes be a tough thing to get your head around when trying to implement them into your own wardrobe. We have three ideas for you to try. It’s all about what you are comfortable wearing and your own personal style.

What to Wear with Fiorentini + Baker Ankle Boots

Who doesn’t like wearing leggings? They are comfortable, cozy, and they keep our legs warm. This Fiorentini & Baker “Gia” style hits right above the ankle, which is the perfect height for wearing over your tights and leggings.

This time of year everyone is very busy running around trying to keep up and get things done. So we thought we would put together a few suggestions and created a few gift guides that we will be posting here on the blog each week for the month of December.

This week’s guide is dedicated to gifts for her. You will never go wrong with a pair of boots, are we right ladies? But if buying a pair of boots makes you feel like you are only contributing to her shoe habit, (Not that there is anything wrong with that!) may we suggest some other ideas? How about a new bag for work or a pair of colorful earrings? Or perhaps some colorful cozy socks or some well designed notebooks she can throw in that new bag? Whatever you decide on, you will look like the perfect gift giver with a little help from us. So, come on by the shop and let us help you pick out the perfect gift for her. Did we mention we do complimentary gift wrap too?

Have a great week!

I’ve always been a fan of green and blue shoes. They behave as neutrals when it comes to fashion. As long as the intensity of the color works with the rest of the hues in your outfit, you are good to go. After all, the stem never clashes with the flower and the sky complements everything. So, when I discovered that Maggie had chosen to include blue and green boots in the fall re-souL collection, I was thrilled. And, let’s face it, shorter boots are right on trend.

When I was offered the chance to offer up my suggestions for, “What to Wear Wednesday, ” I quickly discovered how effortlessly the pieces in the shop work together. So, I started with accessories that I love together, then set out to find clothes to complete the look. In fact, when creating outfits, I often suggest the clients start with one piece and work from there. For me, I tend to start with the shoes.
For the woman who wants to look chic and put-together, this dress brings it all together. Looking to inspire confidence in others? A winter white coat does that better than anything. Because the boots are luxurious and have a reasonable heel, the boots keep it all effortless and functional.Too fancy? A pair of skinny jeans and a basic tee work just as well with this foursome of goodness from re-souL.
