Mondays, Maggie Muses: Abstract Obsession

Hi, I’m Maggie. My husband (Legh) and I own re-souL. I like to “muse” about things that inspire me. Especially on Mondays.

I have always appreciated art, especially abstract and modern art.  Maybe it’s because abstract art is not a literal depiction.  It’s NOT an interpretation of the external but more of the internal.  I imagine the artist’s thoughts, how the work was conceived and why it was important.

Then it is the process of creating. I love to look at the artist’s execution of color, shapes and brushstrokes. I like breaking down the components as individual steps in the creative process and then, reassess as a whole.

Here are some examples of what has been inspiring me as of late.
