GUYS GIFT GUIDE

GIFT GUIDE: Alessi Watch GIFT GUIDE: Winter SessionGIFT GUIDE: BellroyGIFT GUIDE: Stance SocksGIFT GUIDE: H by Hudson

This time of year everyone is very busy running around trying to keep up and get things done. So we thought we would put together a few suggestions and created a few gift guides that we will be posting here on the blog each week for the month of December.

This week we focus on the guys. Besides an exquisite pair of new shoes, we think accessories are key! Because most men like to wear their things to the ground before replacing them, we are suggesting some great looking personal items for your favorite guy on your shopping list. Whether it’s a brand new watch, an oiled canvas backpack, a handsome leather wallet or just some really fun socks, we got you covered. See you soon?

Have a great rest of the week!

What’s in the ‘Garrison Tote’ Bag?

We’ve been wanting to start a new series called “What’s in the Bag” on our blog for quite some time now. Beyond our amazing collection of footwear, we carry a nicely curated selection of accessories, which we continue to expand upon over the years. We’d like to showcase not only a great bag, whether small or big, but also its capacity for containing your everyday essentials.

Today we feature the Garrison Tote from Winter Session. Winter Session is an American manufacturer of thoughtfully made bags. Their story began in 2010 in Chicago, Illinois, but today continues in Denver, Colorado. Their focus is on traditional methods combined with innovative technology, which strike a perfect balance between utilitarian function, durability and aesthetic appeal. And better yet, they source all of their materials here in the US. To top it off, each bag is lovingly put together by hand.

Constructed of natural canvas and vegetable tanned leathers the Garrison Tote has many functions, spanning from work to play. It would be the perfect companion for a picnic in the park, day at the beach, weekend get-away or even for your daily commute. With four outer pockets, two inner pockets and a spacious inside, the tote is a lot like a Mary Poppins bag. It can pretty much fit everything but the kitchen sink. The side compartments are perfect for holding a bottle of wine, umbrella or water bottle. For your work day, in addition to what we have pictured, it could fit a laptop and a lunchbox along with other daily necessities. We hope you’ll love the Garrison as much as we do. Without a doubt it’s a dependable bag for your next adventure.

Holiday Gifts for Him

Because sometimes it’s harder to come up with gifts for the gentlemen in your life, we have come up with a holiday gift guide just for the dudes.

GUYS HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE

> When looking at your phone to get the time is not quite good enough, may we suggest a stylish modern time piece from Alessi? Their watches are well designed and make a smart looking accessory.

> Speaking of smart, how about a smart looking tote to haul all of his stuff? Winter Session totes are produced and made here in the USA, Denver to be exact. Their mission is to “design and produce thoughtful, well-made things in a responsible manner.” You can’t argue with that philosophy.

> Is it time for a new wallet?  When an old boring billfold will just not do, a Jfold wallet will make a strong impression. When it comes out of  his pocket it will  say, ” Yeah, I’m cool.”

> Have a mountain man in your life? Okay, maybe he just likes to act like one?  Wolverine boots are good looking and can withstand a 1000 miles. For reals, it says so right on the boots.

> Here is a great stocking stuffer!  A shoe care kit by Otterwax will keep his shoe collection looking like new. No more excuses!

> Did he play with a Rubix as a kid? The Cubebot from Areaware will keep him entertained at his desk for at least an hour. Time him as he tries to get the robot back into a cube. You may giggle at his expense, just a little.

> A busy business man needs a handsome bag to tote his laptop and files in style. We love this bag from Will Leather Goods.  It’s made to take a beating and will only get better with age.

> We have a manly collection of cuffs from In God We Trust, sans the skulls and spikes. (Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course.)

We hope your holiday season is going well, stay warm everybody!

What do I wear with: MOMA 75301 Wingtip Oxford?

Each Wednesday we’ll answer the on-going question: “What do I wear with these?”  It’s a question we get quite often here at the shop and we love giving suggestions when helping our customers. This week we feature the MOMA 75301.

What do I wear with: Moma 75301 Wingtip?
This week’s inspiration for  “What do I Wear Wednesday” comes from MOMA. Seattle is having one of the best summer seasons in recent memory. But it is August and the shop is getting ready for fall (though we would rather stick with the sunshine). Sometimes transitioning your wardrobe from summer into fall can be tricky but it really doesn’t have to be. These wingtip oxfords are a great choice for when it’s too hot outside for boots and when sandals are not an appropriate choice for work attire. The emerald color is deep and rich and will compliment your core clothing basics of grey, brown and navy.  Wear them casually with jeans and a breton top, or with a silk shirt and trousers. You can also wear them with a flirty dress and blazer for a boy-meets-girl look. Now we ask, are you ready to think about Fall?

What do I wear with: Esska Gaya?

Each Wednesday we’ll answer the on-going question: “What do I wear with these?”  It’s a question we get quite often here at the shop and we love giving suggestions when helping our customers. This week we feature the Esska Gaya.

What do I Wear with Esska Gaya?

We have been admiring this sandal by Esska.  The “Gaya” has the perfect heel for walking and the color combination of fluo (fluorescent) and grey makes for a fresh take on the neon trend.  For an evening out, wear them with a shimmery neutral color dress or a flirty melon colored skirt.  For everyday wear, pair them with a t-shirt and white jeans.  Keep your accessories clean and modern. After all,  you don’t want to not look like you stepped out of  a Wham! video.  Mom always said “less is more”!

Featured re-souL items:

> Esska “Gaya” sandal in grey nubuck with fluo straps.
> Alessi “Luna” watch in white, Laura Lombardi “Nitra” necklace in recycled brass.
> Jo Handbags “Zooey” sling in stone suede.
