With all the new autumn arrivals coming into the shop, I am suddenly in the mood for fall clothes! Because it is still warm and not really sweater weather yet, I am drawn to pieces that I could wear today yet easily transition into colder weather later. Here are my top 5 favorite trends to try wearing now (and also when it gets a little more chilly outside).
Wide leg trousers are a nice alternative to the skinny pant silhouette. Wear them with sandals now and chunky clogs later.
Anything plaid, check or windowpane print – nothing says fall as a plaid print. I particularly like this windowpane print because it seems seasonless. The winter white color is a no brainer for summer and it would look great with a black turtleneck and boots later in the fall months.
Whether its pleated, floral or geometric print, a statement skirt is a must for any fashionable gal’s wardrobe. An easy piece to wear when it’s warm. This pleated skirt could also easily transition into fall weather with an oversized chunky knit sweater for casual wear or a blazer for a go-to-work look.
The sweater dress can be styled for warmer weather like this with a sleeveless shirt and opened up shoes but would look just as great with a cardigan, ankle boots and patterned tights.
The camel trench coat is a great basic for any wardrobe. When it starts to get chilly in the evenings it will keep you warm over your summer frock and in the heart of fall it will layer over almost anything in your wardrobe.
So these are my top 5 favorite fall trends that I am excited to try. What are yours? Have a great week! ~ Maggie
